Terms of Service

1. About Seculate

Seculate is a marketplace that connects people and businesses who want to borrow, lend or rent items, and to offer or find local services. Seculate is not a party to the agreements between users, and does not own, inspect or guarantee the items or services listed.

2. Eligibility and your account

• You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract.
• The information you provide, including for verification, must be accurate and kept up to date.
• You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for all activity on your account.
• One person or business per account. Do not create accounts for other people without permission.

3. Listings

If you list an item or service, you confirm that you have the right to offer it, that your description and photos are accurate, and that it is safe and legal. You must not list prohibited items, including anything illegal, stolen, dangerous, counterfeit or restricted by law.

4. Borrowing, lending and services

• Borrowers and lenders agree the price, dates, condition, deposit and return details between themselves, ideally in the in-app chat.
• Borrowers must use items with reasonable care and return them on time and in the agreed condition, allowing for normal wear.
• Lenders and providers must deliver the item or service as described.
• Users are responsible for resolving disputes fairly. Seculate may help mediate but is not obliged to decide outcomes.

5. Plans and payments

Seculate offers a free plan and paid monthly plans with different listing limits, durations and visibility. Prices are shown in the app before you subscribe. Paid plans renew monthly until cancelled. Payments are processed by third-party payment providers, and fees already paid are generally non-refundable except where required by law.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Harass, threaten, discriminate against or defraud other users.
• Move transactions off Seculate to avoid fees or protections.
• Post false, misleading or infringing content, or fake reviews.
• Interfere with the app, attempt to access other accounts or scrape data.
• Use Seculate for any unlawful purpose.

7. Your content

You keep ownership of the content you post. You give Seculate a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display and promote it in connection with the service. You are responsible for making sure you have the rights to what you post.

8. Suspension and termination

We may remove content, limit features or suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put others at risk. You can close your account at any time by contacting us.

9. Disclaimers and liability

Seculate is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for the condition, safety or legality of items and services listed by users, or for the conduct of users, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and disputes will be handled by the courts of Nigeria.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If changes are significant we will notify you in the app or by email. Continuing to use Seculate after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
